WORTH THE WAIT

Megan and Darnell met at work. They both had jobs at a brewery, and were friendly. Megan had recently ended a nine year relationship when she began working there, and was focused on work and herself. Darnell was flirty and expressed interest, but Megan was transparent that she wasn’t looking for anything romantic. They grew closer as friends regardless.

Darnell continued to spend time with Megan as pals. They even got together a few times to hang out. Megan found Darnell had the most undeniably beautiful personality, and couldn’t hide that she was developing feelings for him. Darnell had never given up, and almost eight months later-asked Megan to be his girlfriend again. This time, she agreed.

PROPOSAL, INTERRPUTED

It was Christmas Eve and Megan and Darnell had decided to take their daughter to see the trees lit up in the National Harbor. As they approached the rows of trees that would soon be lit, Darnell dropped down to his knee. As he began to speak-the lights of the trees and the sound of blaring music began! Megan admits that they had to stand there for a moment for the tree lighting song to finish before Darnell could finish his proposal. He had to wait a bit to ask, but there was a yes awaiting him. Now, it makes for a funny tidbit in their love story!

Megan and Darnell were the first couple to ever get married at Haven Street Ballroom!
The pair used a record from a meaningful song as a guestbook. You see the final signed product, above.
Megan and Darnell passed on having a traditional bridal party. The wedding was very romantic and intimate, so they instead invited their best friends to pose for some photos after the ceremony. The girls all opted to coordinate in blush to match Megan and Darnell’s theme.
Days of May made the gorgeous floating floral installation for the ceremony, which was such a WOW statement.
These two got married on May the Fourth! Darnell is a huge Star Wars fan and incorporated his love with an awesome pair of cufflinks you’ll see in the images to follow.
