WV STATE CAPITOL ENGAGEMENT SESSION | KATIE & KURT | WV WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

COLLEGE PARTIES

In January of 2015, two strangers attended a college party. They had seen one another around campus, but had never spoken. As fate would have it, the pair were introduced at the event. It took exactly two weeks of Kurt trying to talk Katie into a date before she gave in and agreed.

Speed ahead just a few months. Katie and Kurt have spent nearly every moment together, causing days to bleed together in the best way. While sitting on the couch on your average March day, Kurt asked Katie to formally be his girlfriend. Once again, she agreed.

THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM

Katie had shared that she always imagined an intimate proposal. Taking this to heart, Kurt decided that he would surprise her at a least-suspecting moment in a place he knew she would be most comfortable. After a year and seven months together, in pajamas on the couch, Kurt told Katie he had a question for her. In a private moment between the two of them, Kurt got down on his knee and asked Katie to be his bride. He pulled the ring out of his pocket and Katie instantly fell to tears. For a third and most memorable time-she agreed.

THE BIG DAY

Kurt and Katie are getting married at Oglebay Resort this June! I’ll be traveling back to West Virginia to capture all of the beauty and I cannot wait. It will be a Summer wedding with romantic accents. Katie and Kurt say they are “most excited to finally just be husband and wife.” They also added that if they could invite any celebrity guest that they would love to see Ellen show up to kick off the dance party!

Here are a few beauties from their engagement session at the WV State Capitol Complex in Charleston!

Just beautiful! Their story reminds me much of my own… my hubby of nearly 10 years and I met at a college party as well. He, too, asked me to marry him when it was just the two of us at home. Soo sweet! I’ll be watching for wedding photos!
