AKP MAY WEDDING WARDROBE | WHAT TO WEAR | BALTIMORE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

I cannot believe it’s the end of May. While I am out of town this weekend with my friend Amber Robinson of Images by Amber Robinson, I wanted to make sure to keep up with this new series. Last month’s post received great reviews, so I have decided to make it a permanent staple on the blog. I’m actively enjoying life at Asheville Glamping, but I hope this helps you prepare what to wear for your June events.

POPS OF YELLOW

Yellow is probably my second favorite color to pink. I found this dress at Target last Fall and was drawn to the high neckline and small pops of color. This dress also had pockets! You better believe that if I find a dress I like with pockets, I’m snagging it. I took along a cardigan in case it cooled off, and wore my trusty rose gold slip-ons.

It’s the little things that make a little black dress, special. This light-weight cotton dress caught my eye while I was on a trip to New Orleans. My friend Alisha of Alisha Faith Photography suggested a little shopping and we made out like bandits. This piece was one that I’ve already worn three times since purchasing it. It’s so comfortable and can be casual or dressy depending on your accessories. It’s a perfect dress for a wedding photographer!

I put my brand new Rothy’s to the test this month! I ordered the pointed toe in a metallic design. It has been advised to order a half size up, so I did. When they arrived and fit, I was really excited. The first time I wore them was for a few hours consecutively. They are easily the most comfortable flats I’ve ever owned. The top for this outfit arrived to me in a subscription stylist box. I adored the print from the moment I pulled it out of the box, and fell in love further with the fit. While I don’t typically like to show off my arms, the halter-like cut really flatters my shoulders while protecting my neck line if I need to bend down while shooting. The pants are a return from last month’s blog. Every gal needs a pair of these! Finished off with a pointed toe flat, this was my favorite wedding outfit of the month.

I want to take the time to also admit that this shirt requires a strapless bra. This is important because I fall into a completely average body category. It has never been easy for me to slip into a random strapless bra, and I have never felt comfortable without ample support. Be that as it may, I took a chance on a strapless bra that had been sold out in my size for weeks. I was so excited when it came in the mail. When I tell you this bra is so reliable that I will wear it on an 8-10 hour wedding day without complaint–I mean it. Go get one, and while you’re at it, take $30 off on me!
