Most wedding photographers take on about twenty weddings a year. We start to think of all the effort that goes into marketing for those weddings, booking a couple, serving them through the process, and then all the work that comes after the event is captured like editing, album building, and more… then multiplying it by 20. While to the outside world, that may not seem like a lot, it is not an easy or sure thing to book that many per year. So many of those contracts come through word of mouth, as brides are looking for an experience they can trust.
Why is this relevant for Kate and Zach?
Well.. you see.. had they not been referred to me, I may have never met them at all!
Kate planned her wedding from Michigan. She put love, time, and lots of care into her DIY details, all of which had to travel to Maryland with her. Planning such an affair from a different state can certainly be taxing, especially when you want to meet with your vendors! Luckily for Kate, she had a wedding photographer in the family. Luckily for me, that photographer was Alison Kundratic, a dear friend of mine.
Alison and I had met in on online forum before my business took off. We became fast friends and shared many of our stories as we struggled through the growing pains of being in this industry. She was to be a guest at Kate and Zach’s wedding, and sent Kate my way. Kate and I Skyped one evening and hit it off immediately. I was beyond excited to be referred by a friend I admired, and Kate and Zach ended up being such a perfect fit as an AKP couple. From the handmade details to the epic dance party that ended the night, the Aeschleman wedding was a hit! I had a blast hanging out with these newlyweds and Alison was even able to sneak out with me for some night-lighting fun!

One of my favorites, too! After a crazy year planning our own wedding, it’s been so nice to go back through images from 2016 weddings to blog. Excited to be back, sharing with new brides-to-be!
