Last week was Cinco De Mayo and coincidentally the day of our May meet-up. Alicia Wiley, my studio mate, has been setting up dates for social events as well as topic-based activities that enable us all to learn from one another. We’ve recently hosted dates for harsh light challenges, off-camera flash practice, and the standard coffee and discussion meeting. I haven’t had a chance to be at all of them myself, but it makes me so happy to see that our space is going to such a great use. I love bringing people together, and I love that people spend so much time at our studio with us.

On the 5th, we met at the studio around dinner time. We had all divided tasks and items to bring to pull off a taco bar and margaritas. Everyone chipped in, pot-luck style, and it was seriously delicious! We had a turnout of seven ladies (including myself) and it was the perfect size group for an intimate evening of conversation. We talked about things like our first wedding experiences, upcoming AKP Retreats, what resource everyone uses to deliver digital galleries, and off-camera flash! The girls even stayed after dinner and went outside for a couple of night shots.

We are planning our next meet-up in April and we’d love to have you join us if you are local to Baltimore, Maryland.
