Jessica and Jay’s event was so full of joy. I will admit that I had really been looking forward to this wedding leading up to June. The pair had told me a lot about their planning, quirky ideas they wanted to implement, their unplugged ceremony, and more. I just knew it was going to be a unique celebration. I was right. :)
I arrived to the Irvine Nature Center, a new venue for me, with enough time to explore their gorgeous land. Jessica’s bridesmaids arrived with beautiful mint green dresses and the bride wore a lace fit and flare with a keyhole back. The guys sported khaki toned slacks and vests, the lapels adorned with paper flowers made by the bride. Little DIY details like this made the day so special and original. I think I speak for all the guests when I say, we were eating it up.
Their wedding ceremony overlooked an infinite field of forrest. Fun music welcomed in the immediate family, bridal party, and the bride. The officiant told a romantic, yet comedic story about how the two met. Jay’s Grandfather recited the story, “I Like You,” which was one of the most charming points of the day. The pair substituted the average unity ceremony by preparing and sharing a sandwich. All of these details made it a top contender for the best wedding ceremony I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. From laughter to tears, there was no shortage of emotion. It was just beautiful.
After executing portraits throughout the grounds of the venue, we arrived back to the reception tent. The bridal party quickly joined the couple’s guests for dinner and dancing. The DJ was amazing, the food was on point, and the newlyweds spent almost the entire night on the dance floor before retiring to the fire pit. Be sure to check out the amazing video that Kara Daly put together! It’s great!

Jay & Jess,
This journey with you has been fantastic. I loved getting to know you two, your story, and share in part of that. I had a great time shooting engagements with you, and I’m so appreciative for the extra footage you came out to create for my promotion video. I’m forever grateful for your love and support, and I can’t wait for our paths to cross again. Many thanks to your family and friends who were equally as wonderful to work with. I wish you all the happiest of futures!
