This blog is 100% personal, but I think it’s important to recognize someone who does so much for me, means so much TO me, and is so vital to the success of AKP. Fair warning, it’s sappy!

A friend recently said to me, “you are so lucky you found your profession before you met Dave.” Her idea was that I was fortunate to have established myself before falling in love, planning a wedding, adding kids to the mix, and battling other life milestones. The truth? I don’t think it’s any easier for me than the next guy. I still miss my best friend’s baby showers, my grandparent’s 50th anniversary, weddings I’m invited to only after I’ve been booked on that date, and today.. my fiance’s birthday. I could go on here, but this blog post isn’t about that. It’s about making it work, why it’s worth it, and how grateful I am to have found such a complimentary partner in this crazy world.

Today is Dave’s birthday. I would love to say I woke up with him this morning and made him breakfast after snuggles, but alas, I can’t. I sit here in Baltimore writing this blog and he is in meetings in Dallas. We are states apart for another important day, but it’s ok. I will be thankful in this moment for the wonderful man I have in my life.. the man who will return home late tomorrow after more meetings and a flight.. a man who does all of this to make sure we have all the little things we want and need in life.

I want to wish the HAPPIEST of birthdays to my fiance, Dave!

Thank you for pushing me to always do the things that scare me, understanding 80 hour work weeks and a laptop as an extension of my body, making me laugh to help me forget the pressure I put myself under, showing me new and exciting things and places, putting up with my super emotional tendencies, picking up the glitter constantly being discovered throughout our home as a result of my insane crafting projects, giving me blunt opinions on business when I need them, being so good to our pups when I’m gone, making promotional videos and schmoozing with my clients, your encouragement, and just loving me so much that I don’t have to doubt it. I know our future is so full of joy. Your ambition, urgency, and passion inspires me every day. You make me better, stronger, and I have accomplished so much more as a result of our love. I hope you always know it, no matter what day it is and no matter where we are. I love you. <3
