MARYLAND WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS | CLIENT GIFTS

I’ve been focusing a lot on 2017 and the things that I really want to achieve. I’ve made lists of goals, and I’ve checked them twice. One of my top priorities this year is to be more involved with my clients. I want to give them more attention, enhance their experience, and connect with them more personally. While I do not advocate trying to buy your client’s love, I do encourage you to spoil them in any way you can.

For next year’s couples, I decided to opt out of the standard “AKP branded welcome box.” There is absolutely nothing wrong with what could have been a Kate Spade inspired, striped, glittered token of my appreciation, but I just REALLY love Christmas. My birthday is on Christmas Eve so I look forward to the holidays all year. It’s just one more thing to celebrate! Inspired by a date night box my good friend Alicia Wiley Photography had designed for her couples this year, I set out to put a Christmas spin on it. I wanted it to be merry for all my couples who are about to MARRY. ;)

Here’s the final product:

The boxes included two paper cups with holiday liners, peppermint hot chocolate, peppermint sticks, gumballs, sugar cookies, popcorn, and a coupon code for a Redbox rental. I found the cute boxes, about shoe box size, and crinkle paper at Target (I mean.. yeah, Target..). My husband helped me assemble these one evening, and I dropped them at the post office early this week. Clients began receiving them days after, and five of my couples have already done social media shout outs. It’s a cycle of excitement as I passed along a gift I eagerly awaited them to have, and they showed their excitement in sharing they received it. It’s such a good feeling, and I had so much fun pulling these together.

I cannot wait for next year’s weddings. I have such an amazing line-up of lovebirds and each of their weddings is so different than the other. If you’re still in search of a wedding photographer, I’d love to chat with you! There are still a few dates open for 2017 and I am officially booking into 2018! As we enter engagement season, I’d love to be kept in mind to serve your wedding photography needs. Here’s to a new year and new committments!

Adorbs!! We do gifts for people and venders we work with for our other buisneds( Kai’s Associated Industries) or K.A.I. Excavation. I need to learn how to balance both his and my business.

Thank you so much, Heather! How cool that you and your husband get to work together, though. That’s on my list of goals for the long road, but I would LOVE to help you learn how to balance more. Would you ever consider joining us at a AKP Retreat? Our next one in Nashville is all about balance, work flow, goals, and kicking the year off strong. It’s in March! :)

These are so cool! We did Christmas gifts for our clients this year, too. We bought mugs (from World Market) that said Mr Right and Mrs Always Right and packaged them with a bag of our favorite locally roasted coffee beans. They loved them!

Such adorable and heartfelt gifts- I love the idea. I am a new business so I struggled with if and what to do for the holidays. I think I’ll have a better direction next year.
