FILLING THE SILENCE | PERSONAL | DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

2016-02-21_0003

“It’s been a few weeks since my last blog.”

That sentence has lingered on the tip of my online tongue. It has sat in the white text box with the blinking cursor, staring back at me. It’s just been there, flashing, and waiting for the next string of words. They just haven’t been coming.

For the past few weeks, it’s been hard to put everything that I’ve been feeling down. I’ve had so many amazing experiences lately, it’s been almost overwhelming to put into words. This may seem silly to some of you. Anyone who knows me knows that I always have tons to say. THAT is usually the problem.

So, what? This has been writer’s block? Blogger’s block, maybe? That sounds more accurate. Either way, I realize and acknowledge that I have fallen off the proverbial bike.

2016-02-21_0001

I sit here at ten minutes to midnight knowing that Monday is literally moments away. I know that if I want to meet the normal expectations of my blogging schedule, I need to have content tomorrow. I know that I need to schedule the post at a certain time to attain a certain reach. I have to have something witty because Monday’s are my best blog reaction days (I’m sorry this isn’t more witty!). I need to get it ready to publish, ready to share, scheduled to post. I know that if I don’t have it done tonight, tomorrow will arrive and I will miss that window of opportunity to make sure someone reads this thing. I know I will feel like a complete fail if another Monday passes without a blog.

The pressure is real.

Now, six minutes to midnight, I am sucking it up and practicing what I preach. I am taking responsibility for being more consistent, and even though it’s late-I’ll sleep soundly through the night knowing tomorrow morning is all buttoned up and ready for you to read. You, my amazing friend who stops by and pays this blog attention. Thank you!

I urge you, too, to treat this Monday like a new start. If there’s something you’ve been struggling to get back on track with whether it’s your workflow, gym routine, time with your husband, calling your mom more, or something else.. begin today! Remember, it’s a fresh week and little steps can make big progress.

I’m dusting my knees off, shaking off the writer’s blues, and “hopping back on the bike.” I have so many exciting things to share about Mexico with House of Flynn, AKP weddings, buying my wedding dress, a new retreat opportunity, Florida, and more. Check back on Wednesday to see what I feature first!

Girl, I need to get back on that bike too!
Things just have been crazy and the thought of generating new blog content is more at the bottom of the list of things to do!

You’ve got this; remember it’s okay to not blog brand new content everyday, or every week. It will come and it will pour out of you until your hands are so sick of typing! :) <3

    Happy Monday!

I’ve been really behind on blogging as well… I think it’s important to give ourselves grace and approach each day as a fresh start. Love this post! Happy Monday!

That bike has been sitting in the chilly garage almost all winter for me! A new Monday and fresh start – can’t wait to read what else you have been up to!

You’re so right! It’s often not the actual act that kills us as much as just getting the ball rolling. I’m looking forward to sharing more this week. :)

Blogging regularly is hard! At one point I was trying to do a personal blog at the same time and it just wasn’t working for me. Good job getting back on track!

it’s quite the juggling act, isn’t it? I’m trying to do better with setting time ahead to schedule multiple posts so I’m not burning myself out with the routine.

I love your blogs. I get a kick out of how you manage to create such artistic visuals without even using any film. Everyone should start their Monday with a sip of coffee and a big bite of AKP blog ????

Girl! The Hustle Is Real!!! I have felt the same way about keeping up with my blog. Even with having TONS of ideas written down, I went two weeks without blogging the way that I wanted to. I can’t wait to come back Wednesday to see what you’ve been up to.

I feel the struggle! The guilty struggle between life and work and doing what we love. I like to think that as important as it is to maintain a schedule, maybe its more important to live and enjoy the days right now and Blog later, when time feels right. Reflecting is key. If we are always blogging (keeping up with the days as they are happening), we may not see how much we are growing as a person. Breaks and time away is oh so good for the soul! Hugs :)
