PALM SPRINGS INSTAGRAM HOTSPOTS | COMMUTE AND CREATE | ASHTON KELLEY PHOTOGRAPHY

Ready for some Palm Springs Instagram hotspots?

One of my biggest goals this year is to focus more on personal content as well as content creation. Travel holds a strong second in my photography-inspired passions, but I’m not as excited about shooting landscapes as I am portraiture. New locations can strike up creativity for me as well as my subject. Commute and Create is my new outlet for all things road tripping, mural hopping, and brand expression.

This year I’m launching a nationwide tour for Ashton Kelley Photography. I’ve set up some amazing locations throughout 2020, and I’ll be making myself available for shoots in each city I visit! The AKP Tour will be announced soon (delayed while we learn more about Coronavirus) and I can’t wait to share more about where I’m headed. If I end up near YOU, I hope we get to connect along the way.

Each week, I’ll be sharing three social media hot spots across the U.S.

For today’s blog, I’m highlighting three spots in Palm Springs, California that I visited during Alt Summit. Jess Albins Events and I attended together, and we had a great time visiting all the colorful photo ops. The weather was perfect in March, and for once-my overpacking came in handy. Scroll down for a few photos and addresses to see on your next West Coast vacation.

ONE | THE SAGUARO

Location: 1800 E Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264

Tips: We stayed at The Saguaro during our Alt Summit trip, giving us full access to the rainbow of backdrops it offers. Shooting there during your stay is super easy. Take your time! There were so many areas and nooks I wish I had spent more time making magic in. I can’t wait to go back next year!

TWO | LOVER’S RAINBOW

Artist: Pia Camil

Location: 69930 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage – across from the Atrium

Tips: You can park in the lot across the street and Lover’s Rainbow is visible from the street. The day we were there, there was a painted monochrome bike that Jess dressed up with balloons. This is a really cool installation to see, but also a great backdrop for your Palm Springs’ content.

THREE | PALM SPRINGS DOOR TOUR

Location: VARIOUS

Tips: Sign up for the door tour while in Palm Springs! You’ll visit a bunch of beautiful homes, and if you’re lucky-the famous pink Cadillac might be parked out front of one of them! This was super fun and a great way to mingle with a group of creatives during our last day at Alt Summit. We even got invited into one of the homes and the back patio was stunning. Just check out that mural!
