Through a domino effect of invitations, Katherine and Jimmy met. In October of 2016, Jimmy invited his friend Chris to a Washington Capitols game. Chris would invite Kat, all as friends, and she would accept. Little did they all know, the ground work for a love story was being set. No zamboni needed! The pair admit it was love at first sight.

PAVED PARADISE

A year after meeting, Jimmy and Kat were volunteering together at church. Jimmy seemed to have something weighing on him, and being the good friend she was, Kat started a conversation. The two had a heart to heart in the parking lot. Over an hour passed and by the end of that conversation, their friendship became a romance. Kat and Jimmy were officially a couple. In those moments, the two were able to unveil their shared feelings and begin the next phase of “happily ever after.”

HARVARD BOUND

Shortly after Katherine and Jimmy began dating, Jimmy bought a ring. Following that time, Kat would be accepted to Harvard and the two would start making plans to make the move to Boston together. They traveled for a weekend to Boston for a student orientation where Kat became overwhelmed. Even upon returning home, she was focused on preparing for the move and emphasizing her appreciation that Jimmy would uproot his life to go with her. Without hesitation, Jimmy left the room. He returned with a small box.

Jimmy got down on one knee and proposed. He knew, even though it was late at night, that this was the perfect moment. It was a great opportunity to ease Kat’s mind and show her that he was, so excitedly, all in. Guess what? So was she… so she said, “YES!” This decision came just as suddenly and easily as the one to be together in the first place. It was unplanned perfection.
