A LITTLE NUDGE

Liz and Gregg both used a little app called Tinder. Liz messaged Gregg first, but didn’t respond when he messaged back. A week or so later, he gave her a little nudge online. From there-the conversation and flirtation flowed. The two made plans to meet on a street corner in DC. From there, Gregg took Liz out for drinks and dinner. They had such an amazing time, “and the rest is history.”

MONTHS IN THE MAKING

Being that Liz is a big Ravens fan, Gregg got them tickets for the only game that he figured they would be able to go to last season. Getting closer to the game date in December, he suggested that they stay in Baltimore so they could grab dinner and drinks with a couple of friends he had yet to introduce her to. Liz picked the restaurant, while Gregg arranged the hotel.

On the day of check-in, Gregg and Liz arrived at the Four Seasons as planned. The concierge checked them in and gifted them two complimentary tickets to their outdoor bar that is enclosed with heaters. As they got to the room, Gregg began to get a bit anxious. His friends were running a bit behind, and Liz could tell he was growing restless. She suggested they take a stroll down to the outdoor bar and use their free drink tickets!

As Liz and Gregg reached the floor for the bar, Gregg insisted they take a different route. He said they needed to take a door that didn’t seem quite right, but Liz followed along. They walked out onto a terrace that not only overlooked the city of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, but was covered in hundreds of candles. Not registering that this was for her, Liz quietly expressed she wondered what this was for to which Gregg replied, “it’s for you.” Before Liz knew it, Gregg was down on one knee requesting her hand in marriage, and she said yes!

FIVE FUN FACTS

  1. The outdoor bar with heaters that Liz and Gregg received drink tickets to, did not exist! Gregg arranged the whole thing, even down to the person who checked them into the hotel.
  2. During the engagement shoot, despite knowing Gregg’s name, I accidentally called him “Nick” several times (cue absolute embarrassment). Google Nick Hexum. Tell me they don’t look like bros!
  3. Liz and Gregg actually got married last weekend! Check back for their WEDDING blog next week.
  4. One of the coolest things about Liz and Gregg’s wedding was that they did a non-traditional First Look. No blindfolds or special turns! They allowed us time to position ourselves and test our light, and Gregg just walked up and met Liz on the beach. It was gorgeous!
  5. These now newlyweds had a bacon and bourbon bar at their wedding. I can’t wait to show you more of the precise detail, but for now… I leave you with this thought… bacon wrapped bacon!
