It’s the last day of January. We are already a month into 2018. Feels a little crazy, huh? Look at it this way! We are one month closer to Spring.
Today, it is chilly in Baltimore. It seemed like the perfect time to share this engagement session, which ends in snuggles. Maddy and Patrick are getting married later this year, but we met at the end of last Fall to capture these adorable shots. Let me introduce them to you a bit better!
When asked if it was love at first sight, the answer was laughable. Maddy and Patrick had met at the age of 12 and while they liked one another, neither described it as “love.” The pair met in middle school, but would go on to different high schools.
Despite attending two different schools, Maddy and Patrick stayed friends. Patrick pursued Maddy, and they began to date their Sophomore year. Patrick made Maddy a cake that said “Be Mine?” Maddy said yes and recalls the cake being super yummy. Talk about icing on the cake!
Maddy and Patrick took off on the boat on a gorgeous Summer day in June. As the day came to an end, Maddy heard Patrick yelp and struggle on the opposite side of the boat. Naturally, she ran to him. Patrick had pretended to step on a fish hook, and to Maddy’s surprise, he presented her a ring rather than a hook.
After the “yes,” the shock, and a little bit of celebration… Maddy and Patrick were ready to head back to land. Patrick went to start the engine, but could not. Maddy thought this might be part of the proposal, but Patrick began to flag down a passing boat. They had to be towed back to land, but nothing could shake their happiness. This was intensified further when they arrived to shore where all of their family and friends were waiting to continue celebration. They both describe it as “the best day ever.”
